Join artist Randy Shull for a walk-through tour of the exhibition Randy Shull: Crossing Boundaries. This exhibition is a mid-career retrospective highlighting Shull’s captivating constructions of furniture, art, sculpture and architecture. During the walk-through tour, Shull will talk about the evolution of his artistic process and share insights about pieces in the exhibition. Shull will also discuss influences that have had a profound impact upon his work over the past twenty years.

Join Dr. Suzanne Baizerman, curator of the exhibition Randy Shull: Crossing Boundaries, for a slide presentation and exhibition walk-through. Baizerman will discuss the development of Shull’s multifaceted career in studio furniture, art and design. She will also share how she chose work for the exhibition. Baizerman is the former Imogene Geiling Curator of Crafts and Decorative Arts at the Oakland Museum of California.

Join Exhibition Designer Ted Cohen, Museum Director JoAnn Edwards and Educational Program Consultant Margaret Kadoyama at the San Francisco Museum of Craft+Design for a walk-through tour of the exhibition. Cohen, Edwards and Kadoyama will address the question “Why Look at Art?” as it relates to work in the exhibition. The tour will end with a drawing (offered to those who attend the ACC show and the walk-through tour) for a free family membership to the San Francisco Museum of Craft+Design!

Wednesday, August 6 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm and 3:30 pm – 5:00 p.m.
San Francisco Museum of Craft+Design

These two programs are restricted to first and second graders from the Janice Mirikitani-Glide Family Youth & Childcare Center only.
Children from Glide Memorial Church will explore their creativity in this fun MakeArt program, where they will create their own wood and painted sculptures to take home following a family tour of the exhibition. (In partnership with the Museum of Children’s Art in Oakland)
